If you want to take a video download “Hypercam” at:
http://www.hyperionics.com/hc/
it’s only a trial, but you can still use it.
If you want to take a picture, press the button on your computer labeled “PrtSc
SysRq”
then press start (or the button in the lower left of your screen)
then click on run.
type “mspaint”
press enter.
when paint opens in a new window, press “Ctrl” and “v” simultaneously.
then save the picture.

I have a laptop I want to download latest drivers on it such as the video card but I am using a Linux operating system, Ubuntu.
I am very new at this Linux stuff and it can be frustrating. I don’t have the money now to buy a user friendly os so I am experimenting. Any help will be great! ;}

It will depend on what video card you have in your computer. Ubuntu already has most drivers necessary to function. If it is Nvidia or ATI, you should go to System > Administration > Hardware Drivers to see if there are any proprietary drivers available. This will also work if there are any drivers needed for your wireless card or any other components.

I was just curious as to how hard it would be to replace a graphics card in a Dell laptop. I’ve been searching and have been coming across posts and blogs stating that laptop graphics cards are impossible to replace because they are soldered on. Is this true?

Pretty much true. You really cannot upgrade the video card on a laptop. You’d have to purchase a new laptop.
There are some exceptions to the rule, but these are few in number and even then it’s still not recommended.

I would actually doubt that your laptop is sending a digital audio signal over the HDMI cable regardless.. so you have nothing to worry about. It’s more than likely just a digital video port. (HDMI is very laptop friendly as it’s so much smaller a connection than is DVI.. but the video output is identical.)
So… connect the sound output from your laptop to your car as you were planning on. As long as the projector isn’t projecting too far away from the car, and people aren’t sitting too far away from that.. the sound should be synced up just fine.

I was thinking about editing some images, more specifically anime characters, then custom fitting the images to precision fit laptop skins and selling them on eBay. I’ve seen a few skins where people have done this, however I don’t know the legality of it. Can a legally do this?
